Entry Date: 4/30/2008 Age: 7yrs Cocoa is a N. Idaho transfer. Cocoa came into the shelter up there as a youngster with a bad case of biting. She stayed there until she was transferred to Quad City to work on her biting issues, and then down here -- over 5.5 years later. Cocoa is cage territorial and she does need to know you before she won't give you a bite on the hand. You do need to remember that she has been living in a shelter cage for over 5 years.. it's all she has! She is definitely a single ferret at her age, but she's very healthy and has a wonderful coat. It seems the more area she has to run and burn some of her pent up frustration, the less nippy she is. I think she's just had a bad rap and needs someone who can read her body language. She is getting used to getting some cuddling, and although she probably wouldn't admit it, I think she likes it. UPDATE: Cocoa can be picked up from a sleepsack or when she can't see you without biting. Although still nervous at times, she has learned to trust quite a bit. Cocoa has a special adoption fee.
